Catching up...

It has been a long, long time.  I miss blogging about our little life.  Our little life that has become busy, crazy, wonderful, and at times sad, tiring and overwhelming, but good, so good...always so good.  I have been thinking about this blog, filled with stories of beginning parenthood for a while, unsure where to pick back up, whether to even bother recapping (which would be a tremendous feat, how can you actually catch up on four years worth of activities and happenings and stories and all the things that I used to document on a very regular basis?  You don't...).  So, I'll just GO.

I'm now a "broken in" version of the mom who wrote last.  I'm no longer figuring out what it's like having two children, I'm fully living it.  In the thick of it, if you will.  Cary is still the same wonderful Dad he always has been, working hard, being a family man, coaching a little baseball.  McKinley is 8 and just completed third grade...yep, third grade.  Here's hoping I can update this little blog of mine before he graduates high school.  McKinley had a great year.  He's in cub scouts, pokemon club, chess, basketball, baseball and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.  This year he gave his first book reports and project presentations and did an exceptional job.  He learned cursive and multiplication and division, as well as some beginning algebra, he also had Spanish and French!  This kid has kept us busy.  Jackson is 4 and just completed his first year of preschool.  I can't even believe I'm typing that.  He also had a great year!  Preschool is so fun, I'm thrilled that he has one more year before starting kindergarten and we have some really fun things planned.  Jackson is playing tee ball, and does he love it!  He has also been by my side as we go about our day.  I'm so thankful for that.  I have a small part time job that I'm blessed to be able to take the boys with me if needed.  I also have volunteered for the last three years for our school as I sat on the board for our parent club.  I've stepped back from that a bit and am planning to focus this last year before Jackson is off to school all day just enjoying some time with him and doing fun activities.

Since I typically would blog about various stories or activities (which I still keep track of on social media) I think I will keep this one very short and simple with the intent to continue more frequently.  So I'll close this long overdue update and hope to return soon with more of what I love, chronicling our family life.
